Environmental Health Service


Mission
WRNMMC-B Environmental Health (EH) Service serves a population of approximately 250,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and other beneficiaries. It provides environmental health guidance and consultation to Naval Support Activity Bethesda, Office of Naval Intelligence, US Naval Observatory, Forest Glen and the Secretary of the Navy’s Mess at Pentagon.

Food Safety and Sanitation
Environmental Health capabilities support the anticipation, identification, assessment, communication, and management of health risks posed by environmental health hazards associated with its assigned military activities. The scope of these capabilities addresses environmental health issues that impact service members, their families, and the civilian work force.

Services
  • Food Service Inspections at Forest Glen, Glen Haven, Adelphi Army Laboratory, Armed Forces Retirement Home, Naval Support Activity Bethesda (and all tenant commands), Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, US Naval Observatory, and Secretary of the Navy’s Mess IAW TB MED 530 or P-5010, as appropriate to the Service being inspected.
  • Barracks (sanitation) inspections - monthly
  • Training:
    • Food Safety classes (Manager Level – Train the Trainer)
    • Provided Quarterly

Swimming Pool Operations
The Environmental Health Service monitors the water quality of pools located aboard Naval Support Activity Bethesda.
